Florida International Going (Mr.) Worldwide with Naming Rights Deal with Pitbull

Florida International University (FIU) is shaking up the college sports world by proposing to rename FIU Stadium as "Pitbull Stadium." The five-year naming rights deal, worth $6 million, will pay $1.2 million annually. Miami native and co-owner of Trackhouse Racing, Armando "Pitbull" Christian Pérez, also has an option to extend the agreement for another five years.

Notable elements of the contract include:

  • Pitbull as the “Official Entrepreneur of FIU Athletics.”

  • Voli 305 Vodka as the preferred stadium brand.

  • An option for Pitbull-affiliated performances at home games.

  • FIU promotional activities, potentially including an “FIU Anthem.”

With FIU taking this bold step, other universities might soon explore similarly ambitious naming rights deals.
