MLB Inks Banana Boat as Official Sun Care Sponsor

MLB has signed Banana Boat as its newest corporate sponsor—marking a smart seasonal fit and a creative move into the underutilized sun care category.

It’s a rare sports play for the Edgewell-owned brand, whose last notable sponsorships were in motorsports over a decade ago. Rival brands like Coppertone and La Roche-Posay have previously invested in soccer and tennis, but Banana Boat’s MLB deal stands out as a fresh angle.

The partnership also reintroduces Edgewell Personal Care to the league, which hasn’t had a razor sponsor since Gillette exited in 2018. Edgewell’s portfolio includes Schick, Wet Ones, and Playtex—hinting at potential category expansion down the line.

Sources say Horizon Sports and Experiences brokered the deal and will handle activations.
